María Ablanedo has been awarded the Best Communication Prize at the 2nd Congress on Therapeutic Education in Diabetes for her presentation on the Asturian pilot project C4D–Cuido mi diabetes.

The results of this project were presented by María Ablanedo, diabetes nurse educator at the University Hospital of Cabueñes, during the 2nd Congress on Therapeutic Education in Diabetes, held on October 25 in Madrid. Her presentation received the award for Best Communication, granted by the scientific committee of the congress, recognizing the innovative value and impact of the educational approach implemented in Asturias.

The project demonstrates that the occasional use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in people with type 2 diabetes—when applied at strategic moments within a structured lifestyle education program—can be an effective tool to promote healthy behaviors.

The C4D–Cuido mi diabetes pilot is coordinated by the Regional Ministry of Health, the Foundation for the Promotion of  Scientific Research and Technology in Asturias (FICYT), and the Asturian Health Service (SESPA).
More than 80 participants with type 2 diabetes have taken part in this initiative, which represents a significant step forward in integrating technology and education to improve diabetes management.

From the C4D coordination team, congratulations are extended to all professionals and participants involved for this recognition, which highlights the commitment of the Asturian healthcare system to research, innovation, and the improvement of care for people with type 2 diabetes.

A well-deserved award that celebrates collaboration, innovation, and patient empowerment in therapeutic education.
