On 21st of October 2025, 1st Health Region of Attica and General Hospital “Alexandra”, hosted a meeting with the most influential organizations of Greece, that are specialized on Diabetes. The goal of the meeting was to build a strong bridge among Greece’s Stakeholders and work with them towards the sustainability of the program.
1st Health Region of Attica had the opportunity to inform them regarding the C4D program and their leading role on WP2 package “Communication & Dissemination”. Mrs Foteini Tolika, Leader of WP2 highlighted the importance on working together and on sharing the good practices from the program. Dr Theodora Psaltopoulou through her presentation showed them the impressive progress of the patients from both rounds (A & B) and how C4D program deserves to be continued and integrated with broader public health policies.
This session was highly interactive, with participants actively engaging, asking questions, and exchanging ideas with the Greek C4D team. The focus was on what needs to be done after the end of C4D program. The enthusiasm was evident, as participants showed a real interest in learning about the progress of the program.
Leading the meeting were: Mrs Foteini Tolika (Director of Public Health 1st YPE) & Mrs Olga Balaoura CEO of 1st YPE, Prof. Theodora Psaltopoulou (Internist and Professor of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, NKUA), alongside Prof. Stavroula (Lina) Pashou, Assistant Professor of Endocrinology at NKUA who coordinated the open discussion with the Stakeholders.

- University of Ioannina, representative Prof. E. Laiou
- University of West Attica, representative Prof. E. Vlaxou
CEO of 1st Health Region, Mrs O. Balaoura, highlighted inclusion of Diabetes in the National Public Health Action Plan and the need of training all Health Care Professionals should be implemented, in order to achieve comprehensive treatment of patients with Type 2 Diabetes and stated that the Primary Health Care Structures in collaboration with the Municipalities and the Region can contribute to the dissemination of information.
